Carla to travel to Congo

Carla will travel to Congo in her UNAIDS role against tuberculosis, malaria and AIDS. It has been announced that she will visit Kinshasa with Nicolas in March.

Carla in the top 10 of 2008

Carla was the celebrity number 10 of the 2008 ranking according to Hello Magazine. Just before her were Barack Obama, Brangelina, Madonna, Princes Harry and William, Michelle Obama, Rania of Jordan and David Beckham.

Carla visits Burkina Faso

Carla started on Wednesday her trip to Burkina Faso in what it is her first trip as a goodwill ambassador for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Carla was in the country for only 24 hours and attended a meeting in Ouagadougou and also met women and children with HIV at the Pissy medical center.

"What I would like to do working with the Global Fund is to communicate directly with mothers and their children," the 41-year-old declared at the end of last year. "We have to find a way to talk to them and that's why it is important to be on the ground."

Official visit to Burkina Faso

Carla will begin tomorrow her visit to Burkina Faso, as Ambassador to UNAIDS for the protection of mothers and children against AIDS. Carla was appointed Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria's Ambassador in November 2008.

Burkina Faso is, accoring to the UN, the third poorest country worldwide. Carla will have meetings with volunteers and sanity professionals and will visit a clinic for the early detection of HIV.
