Carla visits Benin

Photos from The Global Fund

In her role as a Global Fund ambassador, Carla visited Benin to continue her fight against AIDS. She visited the Auberge de l'Amour Redempteur hospital with Melinda Gates and met with the president, Thomas Yayi Boni.

You can check out at The Global Fund videos of Carla talking about her visit and a video of the visit (Carla is particularly lovely with the people in this one!)

Carla's wishes for 2010

Carla has made public her wishes for 2010 in her webpage:

Check the google translation here.

Chers amis,

Carla to start filming

New info on the movie by Allen+Carla: it will start filming in July in Paris and will also count with the presence of Freida Pinto. The French government is working on the security that will be needed for her and her teammates' protection.

Solal Sarkozy is born

Jean Sarkozy and Jessica Sebaoun-Darty have become parents for the first time of a boy called Solal. Nicolas is now a grandfather and Carla is a half-grandmother!

We have read that Nicolas is thrilled and very happy with his grandson's name. Also, the press is telling the story of how Carla went shopping to buy the baby everything he needs in Bonpoint (nearly all the collection apparently!): the already-mum-of-one bought...

- a beige baby suit (96€), slippers (38,50€), a hat (24,50€), a t-shirt (50€), a pullover-trouser-shirt ensemble (156€), a body (35€) and socks (17,40€). She also bought a small bag (25€ to 75€).

Read more on the birth (in French) here!

Here's a couple of Nicolas and Carla with Jean and Jessica on holidays.

Carla and Nicolas' Xmas in Morocco

As informed before by us, Carla and Nicolas were spending their Christmas in Morocco, a country they had visited before for another private holiday. The King, Mohammed VI, and his spouse, Lalla Salma, offered a “family dinner” in honor of the French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni at their royal residence in Marrakech, which was attended by the King and Lalla Salma with their son, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan; the King brother’s Prince Moulay Rachid and his sister Princess Lalla Asmaa.

The couple arrived in Marrakesh on Friday 26th December and stayed there until before the end of the year. The Presidential Couple was invited to stay at the royal residence of Jnane Lekbir, near the Imperial City.

EDIT: We found this lovely video of the arrival and dinner, check it out!
